Title: Community Resources Coordinator
Description: The Community Resource Coordinator's primary responsibility is to work with parents, families and staff at assigned schools and to develop and implement school level family and community engagement plans and activities. This individual will be responsible for thinking creatively about new and effective ways to connect with families and the larger community, bring community resources and services into the school based on identified needs of families.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field and two years of relevant work experience (family and community outreach programs)
Bilingual – Spanish/English
Excellent communication skills (oral and written communication)
Experience working with minority and economically disadvantaged backgrounds
Proven experience in community outreach. Resourceful and creative
Genuine desire to work with families and their children to help them develop to their potential
Proficient in MS Word, Power Point, Excel, G-Mail, Outlook and the Internet. Attention to detail and accuracy
A valid Illinois driver’s license and regular use of car and auto insurance to travel between office and assigned schools and to program related trainings and meetings within Cook County and the State of Illinois
Able to travel occasionally throughout the state and country with advance notice.
Able to work flexible hours and weekends according to program needs.
